In order to find a good PPC (pay per click) company or search engine marketing company you should first try and search the web for search engine marketing or marketer and your city such as Houston or Houston, Texas and then check that companies experience and certifications. Many search engines offer certification programs to SEM companies and having a few people on staff who are certified helps. It is not an absolute necessity, but lends credibility to the firm. Of course a company with marketing experience is also critical since coming up with strategic marketing messaging and planning is critical as well to a successful campaign.

A company needs to be able to design compelling ad copy that will get people to click through. Hopefully the landing pages will be targeted and have a strong call to action that carries through with the same message that was initiated in the ad copy.

A PPC company that does not understand natural or organic optimization may not be a good choice either since they will not focus on trying to get your quality score (something that Google and search engines use to place your ad in addition to bid price) and in turn you will overpay for your advertising campaign.
